Created by world-class athletes Nicolas Rousset and Olympian Andrew Mackiewicz, ORO combines elite-level training with a strong sense of community and commitment to excellence.

Meet the Team

  • Andrew Mackiewicz

    CO-FOUNDER & CEO

    Andrew is an Olympic fencer who represented Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Games and is a two-time NCAA Champion. As Co-Founder and CEO of ORO Fencing Club, he brings a unique blend of discipline, innovation, and storytelling to every aspect of the club. His mission is simple: help athletes thrive both on and off the strip. Andrew is building a new standard for the modern fencing club: bold, competitive, and deeply rooted in community.

  • Nicolas Rousset

    CO-FOUNDER & HEAD COACH

    Nicolas Rousset is a seasoned French sabre fencer with an extensive competitive and coaching background. He has competed at the highest level events. He represented the French National Team at World Championships and European Championships under the coach Christian Bauer who has more than 20 Olympic Medals as a coach. For the past 8 Years he has coached medalists at European and World Championships. Nico wants to instill the passion for fencing in the next generation.

  • Sasha Chernomorsky

    ASSISTANT COACH

    Sasha brings over three years of fencing coaching experience and a strong passion for developing young athletes. A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, Sasha combines technical knowledge with a thoughtful, hands-on approach to teaching. At ORO Fencing Club, she leads our Beginner Program, helping new fencers build confidence, discipline, and a love for the sport from day one.
